3mm Single Pointed Knitting Needles
(or use a 3mm Circular Needle still working back & forth - advantage of using a circular needle is that dress can be tried on as you work)

I made 6 or 7 dresses. My husband made me a little clothes rack and I hung them just like your picture! Totally elated! They will fit American girl dolls too.
